Approved Applicator Network
Forti Nova connects building owners, asset managers and facilities managers with approved contractors capable of delivering commercial roof refurbishment, cladding refurbishment, asbestos encapsulation and waterproofing projects across the UK.
Why Use an Approved Applicator?
Commercial roof refurbishment, waterproofing and encapsulation projects involve systems that require correct specification, preparation and application. Using a contractor familiar with these systems — and supported by the manufacturer — reduces specification risk and improves project outcomes.
System Familiarity
Approved applicators have direct experience with the systems they are asked to deliver — SprayGrade, TopSpray 35, Rocathaan Hotspray and ProFix — and understand how each performs on different substrates.
Manufacturer Support
Forti Nova provides technical liaison between approved applicators and system manufacturers, ensuring specification questions and site challenges are resolved with direct product knowledge.
Specification Guidance
Before any project proceeds, the system is specified based on site assessment findings — not selected by the contractor independently. This removes ambiguity and reduces specification risk.
Project Suitability Reviews
Every enquiry is assessed before an applicator is introduced. Projects that are not suitable for refurbishment are identified early — avoiding wasted visits and incorrect recommendations.
Access to Specialist Systems
Approved applicators have access to commercial waterproofing and refurbishment systems that are not available through general merchant channels — including Liquid Rubber SprayGrade and Rocathaan Hotspray PA 260-FR.
Why We Keep Our Network Small
Forti Nova works with a deliberately small and carefully selected network of experienced roofing, waterproofing, refurbishment and specialist coating contractors. Rather than operating a large open directory of unknown installers, the objective is to build a trusted network of competent applicators capable of delivering commercial refurbishment, waterproofing and encapsulation projects to a consistently high standard.
A smaller, better-understood network allows Forti Nova to make more appropriate contractor introductions, provide closer technical support, and maintain stronger manufacturer and specification relationships across every project.
Project Types Delivered
Approved applicators deliver across a range of commercial building types and refurbishment categories.
Systems Delivered
System selection is based on site assessment — the right product is specified before an applicator is introduced. The following systems are available through the Forti Nova approved applicator network.
A water-based, VOC-free two-component spray-applied membrane. Cures immediately into a seamless flexible waterproof barrier. 15-year product warranty. 600m²+ per day application rate. The primary system for asbestos roof encapsulation and large-area commercial refurbishment.
A premium Prokol Protective Coatings system for roof and cladding refurbishment where UV colour retention, RAL accuracy and long-term warranty pathways are a specification priority. Warranted outcomes up to 25 years subject to specification and manufacturer approval.
A KIWA-certified hot spray-applied 100% pure polyurea roofing and waterproofing system from Prokol Protective Coatings. BRoof (t4) and BRoof (t2) certified. Specified where a seamless pure polyurea membrane is the technical requirement. 35-year warranty pathway subject to specification and manufacturer approval.
An emergency waterproof repair compound used for detailing, penetrations, gutters, rooflights and localised waterproofing repair. Applied prior to primary system installation or as a standalone repair solution where full system specification is not required.
How Systems Are Selected
System selection is one of the most important governance points in any refurbishment project. Understanding how this decision is made — and who controls it — is directly relevant to specification risk, warranty validity and project outcomes.
Applicators Do Not Choose Systems
An approved applicator's role is delivery. System selection is a specification decision made prior to contractor introduction — based on substrate type, survey findings, project requirements and manufacturer guidance. A contractor selecting their own preferred system without a preceding specification process is a governance failure.
Specification Precedes Contractor Allocation
No applicator is introduced to a project until the system has been identified and the specification confirmed. This sequence — survey, specification, contractor — is the correct order and is how Forti Nova manages every project introduction.
Survey Findings Drive System Selection
System selection follows directly from condition survey findings. Substrate type, corrosion extent, adhesion test results, project objectives and warranty requirements all influence which system is appropriate. Systems are not proposed on commercial preference or contractor familiarity alone.
Manufacturer Input Where Required
For projects where long-term warranty pathways are required, Forti Nova facilitates manufacturer engagement with Prokol Protective Coatings or Liquid Rubber. Manufacturer sign-off on the specification is a prerequisite for warranty — not a post-completion formality.
Why this matters: Building owners and procurement teams can rely on the fact that the system recommended for their building was selected based on that building's condition — not on which system a contractor prefers to apply or which system is most profitable to sell. This is the structural difference between a specification-led network and a contractor directory.
Quality Assurance During Delivery
Specification does not end when works commence. The following controls apply during project delivery to ensure the agreed specification is followed and the required outcomes are achieved.
Specification issued before works commence
The approved applicator receives a confirmed specification before mobilising to site. Works are not commenced without a defined scope.
Film thickness verification where applicable
For spray-applied coating systems, film thickness readings confirm the applied system meets the specified build. This forms part of the record for warranty-eligible projects.
Inspection records maintained
Where applicable, inspection records are maintained throughout the project — covering preparation standard, application conditions and film build. These support project traceability and future warranty claims.
Deviations reviewed before progression
If site conditions differ from those identified during assessment, or if works deviate from the agreed specification, the project is reviewed before progression. Additional technical review, manufacturer input or specification revision may be required before works continue.
Completion Records
Where applicable, project records may include specification documents, inspection records, film thickness readings, photographic records and manufacturer correspondence. These records support project traceability, client handover documentation and any future warranty process. Records are retained and available to the building owner on request.
How Applicators Are Matched to Projects
Applicator selection is not based on availability alone. Approved applicators are matched to projects according to three criteria: demonstrated experience with the specified system, confirmed equipment capability for the application type, and geographic coverage for the project location. A contractor without the correct equipment for a spray-applied membrane or without experience on asbestos encapsulation projects will not be introduced to those project types.
How Projects Work
Initial Assessment
Building owner submits project details. Forti Nova reviews project type, urgency and condition information before any site visit is arranged.
Survey
Condition survey carried out — or existing survey reviewed. Adhesion testing, corrosion mapping and ingress source identification confirm substrate suitability.
Technical Review
Survey findings reviewed against substrate type, project requirements, operational constraints and applicable compliance requirements.
Specification
Appropriate scope of works determined. If refurbishment is viable, system selection begins. If not, the correct route — repair, replacement or engineer review — is identified honestly.
System Selection
The correct system is specified based on findings: SprayGrade, TopSpray 35, ProFix or Rocathaan Hotspray. Not every project proceeds to this stage.
Approved Applicator Introduction
A suitable approved applicator is introduced based on project type, location and capability. No contractor is introduced before specification is confirmed.
Delivery & Completion
Works carried out to specification with Forti Nova technical support. Project signed off. Records maintained to support any warranty process.

What is an approved applicator?
An approved applicator is a roofing, waterproofing or refurbishment contractor that has been assessed and approved by Forti Nova to deliver specified coating and waterproofing systems on commercial projects. Approval is based on demonstrated experience, equipment capability and an understanding of the systems being applied.
How does Forti Nova select approved applicators?
Forti Nova works with a deliberately small and carefully selected network of experienced contractors. Selection is based on demonstrated competence in commercial refurbishment, waterproofing or encapsulation — not simply contractor availability. The focus is on quality of delivery rather than network size.
Do approved applicators cover my area?
Forti Nova supports projects across the UK through its approved applicator network. Whether a specific contractor is available for a given project location is confirmed through the assessment process. Submit an assessment request and we will advise on contractor availability for your project.
What types of projects can approved applicators deliver?
Approved applicators deliver: • Commercial roof refurbishment • Commercial cladding refurbishment • Asbestos roof encapsulation • Flat roof waterproofing • Industrial building refurbishment • Warehouse roof restoration • Specialist waterproofing projects
What systems can approved applicators apply?
Approved applicators can apply Liquid Rubber SprayGrade, Prokol TopSpray 35, Rocathaan Hotspray PA 260-FR and ProFix. System selection is based on site assessment findings — the appropriate system is specified before the applicator is introduced.
Is asbestos roof encapsulation included?
Yes. Liquid Rubber SprayGrade is the primary system for HSE-compliant asbestos cement roof encapsulation. Approved applicators experienced in asbestos encapsulation are available to carry out works in compliance with CAR 2012 requirements where the roof condition is suitable. See the asbestos roof encapsulation cost guide and the encapsulation vs removal decision guide for further information.
How do I get a quote from an approved applicator?
Start with a site assessment request. Forti Nova will review the project, determine the appropriate system and specification, and connect you with an approved applicator for your project type and location. Quotes are produced following the assessment — not before.
What is the difference between refurbishment and replacement?
Refurbishment using spray-applied coating systems extends the service life of the existing substrate without removing it. Replacement involves stripping and disposing of the existing roof or cladding and installing new panels. Refurbishment is generally less disruptive, less wasteful and more cost-effective where the substrate remains structurally sound.
Can my building remain operational during the works?
In most cases, yes. Spray application is carried out externally. Most commercial buildings — warehouses, manufacturing facilities, schools, retail units — remain fully operational throughout the refurbishment programme. Specific access and operational constraints are confirmed at assessment stage.
What warranty is available on completed projects?
Warranty availability depends on the system specified, substrate condition, application standard and manufacturer compliance. Warranty pathways by system: • Liquid Rubber SprayGrade — 15-year product warranty • Prokol TopSpray 35 — up to 25 years • Rocathaan Hotspray — up to 35 years All are subject to project specification and manufacturer approval.

Yes. Product training and application guidance is provided as part of the approval process and ongoing relationship. Approved applicators are expected to understand the systems they apply, including surface preparation requirements, application conditions and film thickness targets.
Does Forti Nova provide project leads to approved applicators?
Yes. Enquiries from building owners, asset managers and facilities managers are assessed before being forwarded. The assessment process qualifies projects before they are passed to the contractor. This reduces wasted visits and improves conversion.
Building Better Projects, Giving Something Back
Forti Nova intends to support a future initiative where completed projects contribute towards a registered charity chosen by the client. We believe that commercial construction and refurbishment can do more than protect buildings — it can support the communities those buildings serve.
This initiative is in development. When it launches, it will be a genuine part of how we work — not a marketing tagline. Building owners who choose to participate will have the opportunity to direct support towards a cause that matters to them.
